This is my beautiful niece.  She didn't want her pictures taken.  But I think she forgot to whom she is related. On one hand, it's nice to photograph someone who doesn't have an opinion because then I can do whatever I want.  On the other hand, it's horrible because sometimes I just run out of ideas.  I think I could have taken her pictures in the dumpster down in one of the alleys and she would have been fine.  Well, maybe not quite.

She is my dancing queen.  Young and sweet only 17.  

This was E.Beth's fifth and final session for her senior pictures.  Much like the other sessions, I enjoyed capturing my beauty's beauty.  I am constantly in awe at each of my children and how God blessed me with such great kids.  Beautiful inside and out.

I am also a bit jealous at the fact that she is a beautiful dancer.  I was never allowed to dance, so it's a lot of fun to see E.Beth in her element.

seniors, best friends | E.Beth and Annie

When we first moved here seven years ago, E.Beth was introduced to Annie.  They are the same age and Annie just lives a few doors up from us.  Annie also goes to the same church as us so it was only fitting that they meet.  Well, they hit it off right from the beginning and have been best friends ever since.

They both have such sweet spirits and kind hearts.  A perfect fit for a friendship.  It will be interesting to see where their lives take them after graduation.

Evidently, this modeling thing is something they do.  

I could share so many more strange things with you, but I will spare you.  

barns and baseball | Colter~Holdrege senior

We spent about half of our shooting time out at Colter's house.  There were so many cool things around that I couldn't decide what I liked best.  Of course, the three barns were at the top of my list.  And then to see some awesome treasures left behind in one of the barns just made me swoon.  Sometimes I get distracted when out on a shoot and forget that it's about the person and not the stuff.  I need therapy ;-)

The sun and I have a love/hate relationship.  There are so many times when it makes my job difficult. Squinting, shadows, shiny skin.  But oh, what a thing of beauty it can be when it is in my favor.

I love the look of a dreamy, etheral glow from the sun because hazy sun shots can take you to a place of wonder and enchantment with a just a simple flare.

So many of Gabbie's shots were done with the sun and those are the ones I am going to show you here because I think they are beautiful.

nostalgia | Annie~Holdrege senior

One of the reasons I started doing photography professionally six years ago was so that I could capture the emotion and raw moments in the lives of other people.  I have always been able to get that with my own family, but what a neat experience to be able to join in on someone else's story for a brief moment in time.

Annie has been part of my family in a way for almost seven years now.  She and my daughter are best friends and so much alike.  I always enjoy having her around and know that she has my daughter's best interests at heart.

A few years ago Annie lost her grandmother.  It was a sweet moment for me to be part of this shoot as she included memories of her grandmother via a quilt, blanket, Swedish Bible, etc.  Also, to have some shots with her ageing puppy (I always call them puppies regardless of their age) brought back some of my own memories of my oldest having her senior pictures taken with our puppy.

These quiet moments are what she will remember in the future when her senior photo shoot is but a faded memory.

(I'm not sure why some of these shots are distorted.  They aren't that way in reality.
